The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Beverly Farms and will transform our media center into our very own bookstore! There you will find hundreds of books from new and favorite authors, popular series, cool posters and school supplies! We’ll have books and gift items for everyone on your holiday gift list. Your child will visit the book fair with his or her class; we’re looking forward to seeing you (and your family and friends) there, too! Parents are encouraged to visit the fair with their child’s class, before or after school, and/or at one of our special events.

Donuts for Dads (or someone special)
This fantastic opening day event is sure to be sweet! Dads or special someones are invited along with their children to be the first to check out the book fair. This event will be held in the media center from 8am until the start of school. Donuts will be served. (Park in spaces or on the street! Please do not block bus loop or car loop!)
Pajamas, Milk and Cookies Night
This all time favorite event is back!! Come in your pajamas from 6-8pm to shop, enjoy cookies, and hear your favorite teachers read stories. The book fair is in the media center. Reading will take place from 6-7 in nearby classrooms. Don’t forget to wear your pajamas to school that day too!
**Just as a reminder, MCPS now requires volunteer training that must be completed by all volunteers. Here is the link to the online training: http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/childabuseandneglect/ **
PLEASE complete the training BEFORE you come to help us at the book fair. Thank you!
PROGRAMS TO LOOK FOR WHILE AT THE FAIR
CLASSROOM WISH LIST PROGRAM:
While you are at the Book Fair, please consider donating a book to your child’s classroom library. Access to vibrant, new books in classrooms means stronger reading skills! Your child’s teacher has carefully selected books to enhance the literacy environment in the classroom. Be sure to ask a book fair volunteer how to purchase a book for your child’s classroom library.
ALL FOR BOOKS PROGRAM:
Reading is the most important skill for students to develop to continue learning in school and in life. Unfortunately, not all students can afford the books they want. We have a chance to help. Through the All for Books Program, we will collect loose change and dollar bills to help buy books. Your donations will bring more books to the Beverly Farms Media Center and Scholastic Books Fairs will match monetary donations with book donations to two national non-profit organizations – Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. and Kids in Need Foundation. Be sure to ask a book fair volunteer for details.
Please feel free to email one of us. Thank you for partnering with us in encouraging children to read. See you at the Book Fair!
We need volunteers to staff the book fair! Please sign up to set up, to assist students in choosing books, to work as cashier, and/or to clean up. We need lots of extra hands for our special events, too: Donuts for Dads (or someone special), PJ night, as well as our classroom visits (here’s a chance for you to help out your child’s class)!
