Thank you for volunteering your time as a Room Parent! This is a wonderful way to stay connected to your child’s classroom activities, to get to know other parents, and to be involved in the school.  Most classes have several volunteers, so being a Room Parent is not too time consuming and lots of fun!
Whether it is your first time as a Room Parent or your sixth, the teachers and the PTA appreciate your efforts and are grateful for your help. If you are interested in being a Room Parent, please email the Room Parent Coordinator.

What should I do first?
Introduce yourself to the teacher. On Back-to-School Night or at Sneak-a- Peek, you or your teacher will ask parents to provide consent to having their email address for Room Parent communications. This information can be collected by circulating a simple form. Though parents will have already provided their email address to the school during the registration process, they still need to expressly release that information to you for Room Parent communications.

What is my job as a Room Parent?
Room Parents coordinate volunteer activities such as classroom parties and teacher’s gifts, but do NOT do everything! You will solicit help from other parents in your classroom and you will be the communication link between classroom parents, your teacher and the PTA.

What am I in charge of organizing?

  1. Create and Maintain Class Contact Lists
  2. Collect Class Fund ()
  3. Plan Halloween and Valentine’s Day Parties
  4. Teacher Appreciation Gifts
  5. Distribute important reminders and messages to parents
